Perhaps the biggest value of the Internet for job hunters is that the Internet makes it extremely easy for them to look for a job online. Theresa Casebeer of Northwest-Evanston, IIIinois, was a liberal-art major, and she found her first job on the Internet in four weeks. A couple of years ago, job opportunities on the Internet seemed to be confined to high-tech field, but the situation is now changing. In fact, as pointed out by John Sumser, CEO of an online consulting company, the Internet posts all kinds of careers online. And since the Internet allows people to surf extensively in different field of interest, it might lead to some unexpected findings. That is why the young man Nedzad Dozlic, while browsing a sports website for news, could end up in a new job.

Of course, there are other valuable uses of the Internet as well. Wendy Mello of WilkesBarre, Pennsylvania, when applying for a job in Columbia, Maryland, used the Internet to gather information about the new employer, about the local cost of living, and about the real-estate offers there. And finally she got the job after a successful interview. Employers, too, now use the Internet service to recruit new employers, For instance Angela Buehner, a staffing coordinator for the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant chain, successfully hired a general manager in Noblesville, Indiana, through job posting on the Internet.
